The line matters more than the twenty minutes does. Joelton is Metro Nashville, so Cheatham County's flood damage prevention regulations and the Ashland City tree board's authority both stop well short of your driveway, and Metro's own codes and property records take over.
The practical one is the power. Our side of the line is a member co-op; most Joelton addresses are served by Nashville Electric Service instead. If a service drop runs through the canopy over the work, that de-energising appointment goes to a different utility with a different queue, and it is worth starting that call the day you book rather than the day before we come.
The parcel lookup changes too. Cheatham's assessor will not have your record, so when a stump sits near a boundary and we need to know where the line actually runs, it is Metro's property viewer that answers it. We come out from Ashland City, which is closer to most Joelton addresses than the middle of Nashville is. It is twenty minutes on Highway 12 and Old Hickory Boulevard, priced the same as an in-county job with no distance charge. There is no Nashville route to piggyback on, because the whole business works out of Cheatham County.
