Nothing to Show Yet, and Nothing Standing In for It

Cheatham County has about five thousand seven hundred people in the town and something over forty thousand in the county. In a place that size a made-up quote from 'Karen S., Ashland City' gets found out at the feed store counter long before it does anything for a search ranking. The maths of dishonesty simply does not work here.

The quoted figure is the invoiced figure. That happens before any figure is revised, not once the work is finished and the invoice is written.

Depth is agreed in inches at the estimate, measured with a tape from original grade at the end, and photographed. Backfill goes in compacted in layers, so what you have in April is flat ground rather than a shallow bowl that ponds after rain.

On the species that come back — silver maple, box elder, callery pear, beech — if shoots appear from root fragments in the ground area within twelve months, we return and deal with them at no charge. That is not generosity. It means we grind those wide enough the first time.

What We Will Ask You For Afterwards

One honest review, including the parts that annoyed you. If we arrived at half nine when we said half eight, write that. A page of unbroken praise is less useful to the next customer than a real account with a rough edge in it.

Second, permission to photograph the finished spot. Not your house, not your address, just the patch of ground and sometimes the spoil pile beside a barrow for scale. Every picture that ends up in the gallery on this site is from a job we actually did in this county, and the day we cannot say that any more is the day the gallery comes down.

And if something is wrong, phone before you write. A ridge of spoil we missed at the back of a bed takes ten minutes to fix and no money.

How to Judge a Grinder Who Has No Reviews

You are going to have this problem with more than one contractor, so here is what actually separates them, and none of it involves star ratings.

Ask for the grinding depth in inches, in writing. Anyone who answers 'below ground level' is planning to decide on the day. Ask what happens to the spoil and what hauling it costs — the ones who go quiet at that question intend to leave you a mound. Ask whether the price is firm or 'starting from'. Ask who files the 811 ticket and when. Ask to see the certificate of liability insurance, not a claim that they carry it.
